When I was a kid, I remember going to K-Mart and hearing them announce over the intercom system that a Blue Light Special was going on. I remember seeing a flashing blue light in a certain department, where one or more items would be on sale at drastically low prices for a period of time. You had to be there for the good deals, you couldn’t get a raincheck. I like sales just as well as the next guy, and often find myself on The Clearance Isle in Walmart, ( the modern day blue light special) checking out those Yellow Tags. I buy most of my hunting gear in the Spring and most of my fishing gear in the Fall. I usually get those items for pennies on the dollar on things I use a lot. There have been times I saw something on the clearance isle for a really good deal, but didn’t buy it in hopes that it would be marked down lower and not cost me so much. Ultimately missing out on the item completely.

I started to think about this and how we as a people play with our destiny and calling in the same way. God is a good, good Father and will allow us to make our own choices and will Bless us in our choices as it relates to our careers and so forth. Just because we are successful at a career or relationship dose not mean its God’s best for us. I mean we can all say better, better, better, BEST….. but there is only one BEST. God has our best interests at heart and has a plan for us.

One of the most thrown around scriptures in my opinion is Jeremiah 29:11. “For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, says The Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” God has a destiny and a calling for everyone, but because He is so gracious and loving towards us, He gives us a choice. You can take a career path, or get in a relationship with someone and be Blessed in those choices and be successful, but still not be in the center of God’s Will. To be in that place, will cost you. You have to seek God’s Wisdom and Guidance all along the way to be there. If you are in the middle of your choices, you can begin to declare and seek God’s Will and He will begin to change things so you are fulfilling your destiny and calling and be in The Center Of His Will. Don’t get me wrong on the matter, I’m not saying you can dump your spouse and get a new one, I’m simply saying that if you both agree and will start seeking God’s Face, He can begin to work out all the bug’s and draw you both into your destiny. Either way it will cost you to be in The Center Of God’s Will. It will cost you to say no to yourself and yes to God. You will have to exchange your wants for His. You will have to ask His permission on EVERYTHING like being a Teenager again. Salvation is FREE……but The Destiny and Calling of God will cost you everything…… We can either take the short road to get there or the long road, but we can get there .

Deny yourself, take up your cross and follow God. Being in The Center Of God’s Will is our Heaven on Earth. STOP waiting on your DESTINY to GO ON SALE……It will cost you everything!!!!
